As an Agile Release Train Engineer (m/f/d), you will facilitate the Agile transformation of one of our agile release trains within our Core IT System program. For that we are facilitating a program culture of success that builds on people empowerment and transparency to channel the work of hundreds of IT developers and business experts towards a common goal: The leading IT system in the shipping industry.

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize the flow of value within the Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Be an Agile Coach (m/f/d) for the team but also for the department and organization
  • Support the Business Owners to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy intra-team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope
  • Support teams within our Agile Release Trains in becoming high-performing agile teams
  • Foster a lean agile mindset
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindset
  • Prepare and facilitate ART level ceremonies like e.g. PI Plannings, ART Syncs, Inspect and Adapt Workshops, System Demos
  • Drive relentless improvement from an way of working perspective
  • Eliminate/ escalate and track impediments and drive continuous improvement in a sustainable way
  • Standardize and document best practices
  • Participate in and drive the Agile Community of Practice within Hapag-Lloyd
  • Foster Communities of practice and the usage of engineering principles/ Built-in quality practices

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Passion for agile, continuous learning and improvement is a must
  • Proven experiences in driving Agile adoption/ transformation for big companies, ideally for large-scale IT Program teams of approximately 100 people
  • Several years of experience as an Agile Coach
  • Hands-on experience as Release Train Engineer
  • Understanding of Lean-Agile methods and practices and skill applying them at scale
  • Ability to explain and drive adoption of Lean and Agile Principles across stakeholders
  • Ability to form productive relationships quickly at all organizational levels
  • Self-confident and comfortable interacting with Executive Level Leaders
  • Flexible and adaptable while maintaining a high degree of executional excellence
  • Analytical mindset with a highly structured way of working
  • Excellent communicational skills verbally and in writing
  • Strong moderation, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Reliable and motivated team player and leader
  • Fluent in English, German is a benefit

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position. This will enable you to participate in social and community life in Germany and at our company premises in the best possible way.

Nice if you have:

  • Certified SAFe SPC and / or RTE or similar is an advantage
  • Understanding of container shipping business is an advantage
