Responsibilities and Tasks:

Your new team Enterprise Integration platform manages Hapag-Lloyd’s highly available B2B Communication platform „made in Hamburg“. The platform integrates seamlessly with our Freight Information System, the core system of our company. One of the biggest challenges is the continuous development and modernization to stay up-to-date and provide a best-in-class experience.

To support this challenge and enhance the team, we are looking for an IT Java Developer JEE (m/f/d), who is responsible for UI and backend development and thereby a major player for the technical and commercial product development.

  • You take over the technical and architectural development of our B2B platform
  • You are responsible for the design and development of UIs and backend applications
  • Developing solutions for health monitoring and KPI identification is also within your scope of practice
  • You consult internal development teams regarding the use of the platform and work closely together
  • Finally, you take care of external development teams as well

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • You hold a completed university degree within informatics or comparable qualification
  • You possess experience within software development (Java is a must)
  • As an internationally active company, we require a good command of written and spoken English

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position. This will enable you to participate in social and community life in Germany and at our company premises in the best possible way.

Nice if you have:

  • Know-how in the development and maintenance of enterprise applications, as well as cloud environments (e.g. AWS)
  • Experience with further programming languages, development environments as well as different operational environments
  • Understanding of HL IT Products
  • Understanding of container shipping business is an advantage
