Team and Project overview:

As a part of Hapag-Lloyds SAP Team, you work for the Basis & Development team together with the colleagues in Hamburg, Gdansk and around the globe. The SAP Teams in Hamburg and Gdansk are considerably ramping up right now, in order to drive our migration from SAP ECC 6.8 system to SAP S/4HANA.

Hapag-Lloyd uses SAP for Finance, Treasury, Controlling and Materials Management.

Responsibilities:  

  • Design and implement SAP release strategy for SAP department to allow streamlined and effective SAP software delivery efforts.
  • Manage, plan and schedule SAP delivery through the release lifecycle
  • Provide coaching, direction and expertise. Ensure established release rules are well understood and followed by various groups, including functional and technical teams, business representatives and IT leadership
  • Construct a release calendar for the different projects and to align release process with sprints based way of working
  • Limit disruptions by monitoring process, coordinating with different teams and collecting feedback
  • Communicate and report to respective stakeholders
  • Make improvements to the release process on a regular basis aiming for consistent, on-time delivery of high quality releases. 

Requirements:

  • Experience in setting up and/or managing the standard software release management process
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Strong IT knowledge and relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of any SAP module and general understanding of SAP solutions
  • Excellent communicational skills verbally and in writing
  • Analytical mindset with a highly structured way of working
  • A collaborative and empathic mindset to enable our business colleagues through our solutions
  • Culturally sounded team player
  • Interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities ​
  • Ability to work independently and take over responsibility
  • Fluent in English
  • Project management background is a plus
