Food, machinery or T-shirts: Hapag-Lloyd moves goods around the globe with over 250 container ships. We connect more than 600 ports on all continents and are one of the largest liner shipping companies. More than 13,000 employees work on board, ashore or in one of our 350 offices. Together, we transport around 12 million containers per year. Our corporate values "We care. We move. We deliver" serve as coordinates on our way. They guide our collaboration with each other as colleagues and with our customers to achieve the best possible quality. In the long run, we are committed to climate and environmental protection as well as human rights and many other social issues.

With over 450 IT experts, Hapag-Lloyd IT in Hamburg and Gdansk designs and develops global IT infrastructures and applications for one of the world's largest ocean carriers. The Hapag-Lloyd "Freight Information System" is the backbone of our shipping business and represents the benchmark in our industry.

An efficient digital communication with our partners is an important aspect of success in our business. The “Enterprise Integration Platform” team develops and supports the required communication platform.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

"Enterprise Integration Platform" provides a highly available B2B communication platform “made in Hamburg” that integrates seamlessly with our "Freight Information System". A current challenge is the transformation of our platform from a classic centralized setup to a hybrid approach with meaningful integration of the cloud.
We see an IT System Engineer as an all-rounder who enjoys and is interested in further developing our communication platform in the areas of EDI and Reporting & Printing, both technologically and functionally. This includes the work on design, development activities as well as building and administering the environment itself. From the continuous further development to the implementation to the operation (DevOps) of the product, we offer a wide range of tasks.

  • Continuous functional and architectural development of our "B2B" platform on-premise and in the cloud
  • Support and administration of the platform and integrated 3rd party products
  • Provision of interfaces for integration into the Hapag-Lloyd application landscape
  • Development of solutions for health monitoring and KPI determination
  • Advising our internal development teams on the implementation of business services on our platform.

Requirements and Qualifications:

What you'll need to succeed

  • Completed studies in computer science or comparable
