About us:

As Business Intelligence & Analytics department we ensure that the business can take the right decisions by delivering, building, and enabling Hapag-Lloyd’s BI and Analytics. The Sales and Customer Service team aims to specifically support the Commercial organization in data-driven decision-making for tactical and strategical business steering.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Enable the organization: Interact with our stakeholders from the Commercial Organization (e.g., Global Commercial Development, Global Sales, Region and Area Sales & Customer Service) as a sparring partner to use decision-critical data and generate data-based insights
  • Take ownership: Identify and challenge data opportunities and advanced analytics solutions and foster their implementation
  • Make an impact: Participate and take over responsibility in international cross-functional projects to ensure that every strategic initiative at Hapag-Lloyd is designed with data in mind
  • Create transparency: Develop and automate regular reports with modern visualizations and meaningful dashboards 
  • Build bridges: Be in a constant exchange with the commercial departments, team-internal Data Scientists as well as the IT department

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • You hold a university degree (ideally focused on business administration, logistics or business informatics) and you are excited about applying your technical and analytical expertise to the world of global logistics
  • You have relevant commercial experience in the maritime industry from working in a Customer Service or Sales role in the HQ, Region, Area or QSC
  • You have comprehensive knowledge about HL applications (FIS, Qlik)
  • You have a track record of successfully analyzing data and combining it with commercial expertise
  • You can present results to your team and our business stakeholders in an understandable and convincing way
  • Your way of working is assertive, goal-oriented and pragmatic – as a team player you appreciate a close collaboration throughout your team and in international project groups
  • Next to excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, you are interested in advancing your knowledge of BI tools like QlikSense, Tableau or Alteryx
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English completes your profile
