Position Objective

Responsible to achieve individual sales target for the trade / location.

Coordinate with CSB/CSD/OPS to ensure smooth functioning of business to meet customer requirements. 

Function and duties

  • Identify sales leads and initiate / take action to win business
  • Direct customer contact, proactive and reactive
  • Visit customers & determine SOP for their business as required
  • Input into CRM-system profile and details
  • Finalization of load lists.
  • Analyzing on a regular basis customer data from FIS and Compass Customer Potential Evaluation (Short / Long-term forecast) samas
  • Prepares data about customer financial situation and credibility
  • Conclude Contracts / rate agreements (proposal, negotiation, closing)
  • Equipment forecast by analyzing the past performance and market condition.
  • Analyze competition information & identify potential customers currently not with HL
  • Actively participate in sales activities of all trades , imports & exports
  • Follow up on long standing containers ( import)
  • Identify & develop NEW Accounts with Hapag especially BCO accounts
  • Monitors out standings and payments of customers
  • Coordination with CSB, sales Support Desk on daily basis on bookings, Customer follows ups etc.
  • Coordination with Finance and ops Dept on issues related to payment, Outstanding and operational matters.
  • Roll-over communication (Full-Ship-Situation)
  • Provide weekly market update on the current market scenario
  • Actively participate in sales lead follow ups with the respective load ports
  • Actively work towards increase in volumes & at the same time retain the revenues to achieve HL overall objective .

Qualifications, Job Requirements and Core Values

Industry Knowledge

  • 5-10 years industry and management experience in transportation industry
  • Sharp focus on result orientated management

Business Systems/IT

  • Strong knowledge of data quality importance, T&T, steering, etc
  • Expert knowledge of user application systems (FIS, MS Office, Word, Excel)
  • Knowledge of user application systems (FIS, COMPASS (if applicable)
  • Process knowledge & systems support optimization
  • EQ process and system reengineering
  • Ability to promptly process data and request under pressure
  • Understanding of data quality benchmarking and management
