Responsibilities and Tasks:

Would you like to join our passionate and international team of energy procurement experts? 

  • As part of the Global Fuel Purchasing team, you are responsible for part of our annual 4 million tons of fuel oil purchases and spend of $2.5 billion
  • You handle your own designated geographical area and are in permanent direct contact with all relevant stakeholders along the internal and external supply chain such as our 250 fleet captains, chartering and operations, legal, insurance or fleet management
  • While negotiating and executing complex multi-million dollar fuel contracts and spot deals with our 100 international suppliers, you make sure that our commercial and operational excellence beats our global competitors every day
  • Monitoring and analyzing global economic indicators and markets and ensures that deliveries take place in a smooth, efficient, and cost-effective manner

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • We are looking for an ambitious and agile senior purchaser with several years of buying expertise who is as enthusiastic about energy purchasing and shipping as our global team of fuel experts, who are located in our offices in Hamburg and Singapore
  • You will help us to successfully cope with the ever-increasing fast-moving environment within the shipping and energy sector and their long-term transformation to sustainable fuels
  • Insights into the biofuel markets and marine decarbonization projects are an additional asset of yours

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position.
