Tasks and Responsibilities

Regardless of if it is fuel, vessels or loading containers onto vessels: as part of our IT product team for procurement you are going to support our IT systems for all procurement activities at Hapag-Lloyd.

  • You will design the future of our applications and processes for procurement and inventory management in the scope of our recently started S/4HANA project and beyond
  • jointly with our business departments you will analyze their procurement and purchasing processes, collect their requirements and develop ideas for implementing them
  • You will coordinate the implementation of those requirements, for example in ABAP (and other construction concepts), together with our development team
  • Design interfaces from and to our system landscape and coordinate the implementation process
  • You take responsibility for your solutions and for their longevity
  • You implement your solutions using agile methodology
  • Your daily work is characterized by collaboration with colleagues and development teams around the globe

Your profile

  • You are enthusiastic about shipping, logistics and purchasing
  • You have profound knowledge of SAP MM (businesswise and customizing) as well as deep insights in procurement, materials management and inventory management
  • You have a graduate degree which is IT-based or a comparable professional experience in an IT position
  • You’re proactive and enjoy working in an agile environment with continuously changing requirements
  • Ability to communicate in an international environment paired with a very good command of written and spoken English
  • Willingness to work at our office in Hamburg 3 days/week and 2 days remote according to our policy

German language expectations: We expect all international candidates to be willing to learn at least the basics of the German language in case they are accepted for the position. This will enable you to participate in social and community life in Germany and at our company premises in the best possible way.

Nice if you have:

  • Practical experience in developing/understanding ABAP, FIORI or Java
  • Experience in transport logistics
  • Experience with S/4HANA
  • Knowledge in Accounting and Controlling
